After the success of MG Hector in India, MG will now plan to launch its new electric SUV in the Indian market called MG ZS EV.
MG hector grabs lots of attention from Indian customers because of it’s sleek & futuristic design, first in segment features 7 effective pricing but MG ZS EV was able to hold much attention as MG Hector?
MG ZS EV Looks & Design:
New & compact ZS EV looks more sporty than the Hector which can be equipped with conventional halogen projector headlamps with MG typically design DRL. lOKKS OF Zs-Ev.
Yes, the design does not match with the futuristic looks of Harrier & Hector but looks more like a crossover.
The front design contains chrome finished grills with the charging point at the center which can easily be pushed by pressing the MG logo at front. ZS EV is not contain fog lamps at the bottom.
Side look contains 17 inches of diamond cut alloy wheels with Michelin tires which fits suitable aerodynamically & also helps to increase the riding range of the car. The Overall length of ZS EV is 4310 mm which is smaller than it’s elder brother Hector.
The back look of ZS EV looks almost like Creta because of its same design of tail lamps. Other features at the back are rear spoilers, roof antenna & rear fog lamps. Hector contains the boot space capacity of 440 liters which is quite good for a compact SUV.
Interior of MG ZS EV:
Well quality is not up to the mark because the company focuses more on electrification rather than the features. Interior totally based upon all-black matte finish design with some chrome accent on the door handles & on the AC vents. Piaone finish design may also be seen upon the gear knob. Yes, gear knob is the only option that comes up with ZS EV just like the automatic transmission in the Renault Kwid.
Therefore Gear Knob with three options Drive, Reverse & Neutral come up in the ZS EV. The MID display can contain Analog speedometer, one RPM meter & one digital display with lot’s of features like trip meter, battery indication & TPMS called Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
ZS EV is also equipped with a special feature called Regenerative, Braking, but sometimes this feature brings you in trouble when you drive in the city or in heavy traffic. This time not 12 inches but 8 inches of touch screen infoitement display can come which contains features like apple car play, android auto as well as Bluetooth connectivity.
Disadvantages of MGZS EV:
1: MG ZS EV not equipped with 12 inches of TFT display as in Hector.
2: Dual-zone climate control & automatic climate control is not available.
3: Temperature indication on the TFT display is not available.
Battery & Drive Range of ZS EV:
MG ZS EV comes up with 45.3 KW of battery that runs 353 km on one charge but only when you drive in Eco mode which can restrict the speed not more than 60 kmph. 180 km on one charge when you drive in normal mode which restricts the speed up to 100kmph & 60 km on one charge when you drive in sports mode which restricts the speed up to 150kmph.
45.3 KW of the battery can take 7-8 hours to fully charge to 100% when you charge it with the normal charger capacity of 7.5 kW which comes up with the car. Power charger having a capacity of 50.3 kW can charge your vehicle 80% in just 40 minutes.
The powertrain of MG ZS EV:
MG ZS EV powertrain largely contains one important part called Synchronous motor which gives 141 BHP or 139 PS of power with 353 Nm of torque. Pickup of ZS EV is the same as Tata Tiago which speeds up from 0-100 kmph in just 8.5 seconds.

The company not officially reveal it’s pricing but surely it may vary from 20-25 Lakhs Rs.
